A confident koala has been captured striking a particularly fierce pose at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in the Gold Coast.
Part-time photographer and risk analyst Ross Long, 27, pulled his camera out after noticing the koala was “positioned in a seductive manner as if to say, ‘I’m ready for action'”.
“There were other female koalas nearby, so I guess this is his way of letting them know that he was indeed ready.”
“He looked more chilled than a Friday night of Netflix and chill,” the British expat said.
“Perhaps this explains why chlamydia is such an issue in the koala world?”
Ross said the koala was dream talent, perching in the same position throughout the shoot.
“I’ve never worked with such an easy-going model like this one before. It’s a welcome change from the stuff I usually capture.”
The koala has already caused a stir online, with people sharing a number of opinions and jokes about the sassy marsupial.
“No doubt this guy is sexier than I’ll ever be,” wrote one Twitter user, while another said “Do NOT go near him, lady koalas. He almost certainly has chlamydia…”
The last Australian animal to make such headlines was a “sexy kangaroo” snapped earlier this year. The animal was pictured blocking the entrance to a public bathroom.
