Sup Dogs tip: Customer leaves $10K tip after ordering 2 waters.
During a busy weekend for restaurants serving people in purple and gold, one server in Greenville was left seeing a lot of green.
At the start of homecoming weekend for ECU, a server at Sup Dogs was surprised with a $10,000 tip Friday afternoon, Sup Dogs Owner Bret Oliverio said.
According to Oliverio, a customer walked in randomly off the street, ordered two waters, took a couple of sips and then left.
The server, Alaina Custer, then found $10,000 in cash and a note saying, “Thanks for the delicious water,” Oliverio said.
Eventually, Sup Dogs staff learned the customer was YouTube star, MrBeast, who has more than 8,880,200 subscribers on the site.
When asked why he did it, MrBeast said he wanted to show that good things still happen to good people, according to Oliverio.
A few of MrBeast’s friends had stayed behind to record Custer’s reaction, but the video has not yet been posted online.
Custer kept $800 of the cash tip and the rest was split among the staff. Oliverio said everyone went home with a couple hundred bucks.
