Elly Mayday dies of ovarian cancer at 25

A Saskatchewan model known for her positive attitude towards body image has died.

Ashley Luther, also known as Elly Mayday, passed away at the age of 30 from a rare form of ovarian cancer.

Mayday was often seen in ads for Vancouver’s Forever Yours Lingerie Shop, and was a pioneer in acceptance for plus size models across North America.

She was first diagnosed with cancer in 2014.
