A missing woman pulled from a sewer in Delray Beach on Tuesday claims she had been down there for three weeks.
Lyndsey Kennedy, 43, told Delray Beach police she went for a swim in a canal near her boyfriend’s house on March 3, became “curious,” then wandered through tunnels before getting lost.
That’s the same day the 43-year-old’s boyfriend reported her missing, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office missing person’s report obtained by CBS12 News.
He told detectives she was still sleeping when he left for work that morning around 6:30 a.m., When he returned later that day, she was gone, her phone and purse left behind.
“We have been going though things, and have been broken up for three months. Lyndsay’s been staying with her mother for three months, and just called me yesterday to come back. I agreed, and she moved back in yesterday,” boyfriend Yury Barsky told detectives earlier this month.
According to the report, the couple had been on-again/off-again for nearly 10 years.
Investigators also interviewed Kennedy’s mother, who said her daughter has a history of mental health and illegal drug addiction.
The report also states she struggled with her drug addiction during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kennedy was listed as “endangered” on the sheriff’s office missing person’s documentation due to her history.
This isn’t the first time she has gone missing, according to the report. “She has gone missing under similar circumstances on 4/27/2020,” the detective wrote.
