Kym Marsh has opened up about her real-life stalker nightmare, which virtually echoes her character Michelle Connor’s storyline on Coronation Street.

Appearing on This Morning today, the former Hear’Say singer promised a “gripping” and “scary” confrontation, when Michelle realises that her ex-boyfriend Will is her stalker.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield quizzed Kym on her upcoming scenes, the Daily Mirror reported.

Holly asked 41-year-old Kym about the storyline and how it reflected her own personal experience.

Mum-of-three Kym admitted there was one experience in particular that left her feeling particularly fearful.

She said: “I had some flowers delivered to me at home with someone saying ‘Sorry you couldn’t make our date’ and it was all a bit weird.

“And, long story short, when we delved into it we found someone had been pretending to be me for the past 10 years, having conversations with this guy as if they were having some kind of relationship. So it was just really strange.”

Kym said that her stalker had made accounts for her children – including her six-year-old, which she described as “disturbing”.

She also spoke about her character’s own stalking nightmare, and how it is set to reach a deadly climax in her vindictive ex’s lavish house.

Over the last month on Coronation Street, Will Chatterton has been tormenting Michelle by kidnapping her, setting fire to her workplace and even trying to get her in trouble with the police by planting drugs in the Bistro.

Kym said: “It gets a lot darker, It gets really gripping and scary.”
