Freezing Brits set for coldest March EVER with -22C and Siberian gusts feared.

Bookmakers have slashed the price from 4-1 to 2-1 that next month will be a -22C bone-chilling record breaker.

It would mark a sharp contrast to last year’s scorcher which saw the hottest March day in five years.

Coral spokesman Harry Aitkenhead said: “With temperatures set to plummet and freezing winds and snow on the horizon, we’ve slashed our odds on next month being the coldest March ever.

It’s certainly shaping up to be a bleak spring.”

Daffodils and picnics will take a back seat until April as the UK prepares for sub-zero temperatures and heavy snowfall.

Freezing winds will blow in from Siberia and icy gusts will make it “feel raw”, forecasters said.

The Midlands and the East will be the worst hit but the North will be blessed with brighter and warmer conditions.

A Met Office spokesman said: “Snow showers will develop across some eastern and southern areas, where fresh winds will make it feel bitterly cold.”

Last March saw Britain bask in weather hotter than Portugal.
