Tom Hardy is unrecognizable as he acts as Al Capone on set with Matt Dillon in the upcoming Fonzo. The actor duo sat on a fishing boat for the scene with top in a red velvet robe and Matt in a black vest over a white button up.
Fonzo, written and directed by Josh Trank, will follow the legendary cigar-puffing Chicago crime lord’s final years, in which he was finally imprisoned after decades of murderous crimes and ultimately succumbed to syphilis-induced dementia, dying of a heart attack at the age of 48.
It’s said that fellow inmates could hear Capone’s blood-curdling screams late at night for “Jimmy” to leave him alone. James “Jimmy” Clark was one of the victims of the Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre, and Capone even approached a medium to discover what Jimmy wanted from him after his release from prison.
Fun, wholesome stuff.
The Legend actor, who is also set to star in Spiderman spin-off Venom later this year, hinted that he had signed onto the role with an Instagram snap back in March (that, or announced a worrying pivot to vape tricks. He made the right choice).
