Heatwave to return in FULL FORCE after last of wet weather STRIKES.
Wednesday will witness glorious conditions across southern regions with temperatures rising into the mid-20s, but rain and a strong breeze will create volatile conditions across Northern Ireland and central Scotland.
Commenting on the conditions, Met Office meteorologist Luke Miall said: “For many, Wednesday is set to be a pretty decent day, with a lot of sunshine around and some patchy cloud bubbling up through the afternoon.
“For those in the sunshine, conditions will be warming up with temperatures doing fairly well.
“We could see 24 or 25 degrees across the south-east, so it will feel very pleasant indeed.”
The weather expert noted conditions will remain favourable throughout the evening across most parts of the UK, with clear skies and light winds.
Mr Miall also warned the UK’s heatwave is set to return in full force by the end of the week, sending thermometers soaring to 30 or 31 degrees by Friday and into the weekend.
However conditions will be less favourable across northern regions of the British Isles, with rain and heavy cloud threatening to dampen summer spirits.
The meteorologist said: “There will be one or two showers around, and a fresher feel to things compared to the last few mornings.”
Showers will spread throughout central parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland during the morning, and could even push into parts of Wales.
Mr Miall said: “Thicker cloud will develop across parts of Northern Ireland and we could see some outbreaks of rain by the end of the afternoon.
“It will be quite a wet and soggy end to the day here, with some low cloud around the coast, and that rain gradually pushes its way into Scotland as we head into the evening.”
Rain will become more consistent throughout the afternoon on Wednesday across north-west England, central parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
A strong breeze will also set in across the Irish Sea, bringing damp and blustery conditions for the Isle of Mann and Anglesey.
