The number of coronavirus cases statewide grew by 890 in less than 24 hours, bringing the total to 12,561, state health officials confirmed Saturday.
Another 28 fatalities were reported during the same period of time, bringing the total to 254 deaths related to the illness. Of those diagnosed to date, however, 1,617 have since recovered after acquiring the COVID-19 virus that causes respiratory illness.
To date, according to the statistics, 120,533 tests for the virus have been conducted across the state.
The counties with the greatest concentration of illness are:
Harris County: 3,261 confirmed cases as of Saturday.

Travis: 690
Bexar: 665
Fort Bend: 518
Denton: 454
Collin: 425
Galveston: 341
El Paso: 252
