Ed Sheeran’s giddy fiancee Seaborn is by his side at the BRITs as he fuels ‘secret wedding’ rumours by sporting shiny band again.
Ed Sheeran has fans seriously speculating about his marital status after he appeared at the 2018 Brit Awards Wednesday sporting what seemed to be a silver wedding ring.
The “Perfect” singer walked the red carpet in a black suit and white rose to show his support for the Time’s Up movement, and accessorized his look with a silver ring on that finger, British news source Metro reports.
Sheeran proposed to longtime girlfriend Cherry Seaborn in December, and rumors have been flying that they were already secretly married. Neither party has commented on the rumors, but according to Metro, those close to Sheeran say that the pair hasn’t exchanged wedding vows … yet. The band, instead, is just a symbol of being betrothed.
“Ed is wearing a ring to show his commitment to being engaged to Cherry, but he’s not married yet,” a source told The Sun. “He’s amused by the fuss it’s caused, however, has no intentions of taking it off, so it’ll be on his hand during his Brits performance.”
While traditionally it’s women who wear engagement rings, male engagement rings are an increasing 21st century practice. So perhaps just call Ed a modern man.
Meanwhile, Seaborn recently showed off a new piece of bling, stepping out in her diamond engagement ring late last month. The pair, who have known each other since they were young, reconnected at Taylor Swift’s Fourth of July party in 2015. They’ve kept any and all wedding plans under wraps since they went public with their engagement, so when the big day will happen (if it hasn’t already!) is anyone’s guess.
Before Sheeran walks down the aisle himself, though, he has one more major wedding to get through: the royal one. Reports recently surfaced that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle asked the singer to perform at their nuptials in May.
