Family chased by cheetahs after getting out of car in Dutch safari park.
Footage has emerged of a family in a safari park nearly getting themselves killed after getting out of their cars to get a closer look at the animals.
The incident took place in the Dutch safari park Beekse Bergen and in the footage you see the family all out of their cars, taking pictures fo the cheetahs lounging in the sun.
For those unaware, the concept of a safari park is relatively simple… DON’T GET OUT OF YOUR CAR. There are wild animals all over the park that are capable of killing you.
This family seemed to completely ignore this and they even carried their young child out of the car to have a look. In the first part of the footage, the cheetahs are calm and not bothered by the family but around the two minute mark the footage changes.
The family drove away from the cheetahs and five adults and one child all got out of their cars again. This time, two of the cheetahs take interest and run over to them.
A woman picks up the child and they all run toward their car. One of the cheetahs comes aggressively close to the woman holding her child and she waves her hands at it.
On Reddit, one person who claims that they worked at the park explained the process of entering:
“Besides the fact that there are very clear signs in multiple languages that you should not leave your car or open your doors. All cars go through a ticket control where the car is checked from the outside for any stuff that can harm the animals.
“And the people in the car get a verbal explanation of the dangers and what can happen and what not to do. When I was working there I could explain it in French, German, Dutch and English just so shit like this wouldn’t happen.”
It is unclear if the family will face any sanctions.
