Larry Baer, Giants CEO Physical Altercation with Wife (Reports).

San Francisco Giants CEO Larry Baer was captured on video Friday having a public argument with his wife that turned physical, and Major League Baseball later released a statement saying it would investigate the incident.

The video, which was taken at a San Francisco plaza and published by TMZ, shows Baer reaching over his wife, Pam Baer, who was sitting in a chair, to take something out of her hand. The chair flipped over, and she fell to the ground, screaming.

Larry Baer spoke with the San Francisco Chronicle after the incident.

“My wife and I had an unfortunate public argument related to a family member, and she had an injured foot and she fell off her chair in the course of the argument,” he said. “The matter is resolved. It was a squabble over a cell phone. Obviously, it’s embarrassing.”

Baer said he apologized to his wife, and police were not contacted.

The couple later released a statement through the Giants, saying: “Regrettably today we had a heated argument in public over a family matter. We are deeply embarrassed by the situation and have resolved the issue.”

Baer later issued a follow-up statement: “I am truly sorry for the pain that I brought to my wife, children to the organization. It is not reflective of the type of person that I aspire to be, but it happened, and I will do whatever it takes to make sure that I never behave in such an inappropriate manner again.”
