London bus passenger wrestles knifeman in Stoke Newington.
The terrifying footage shows the brave man wrestling with the alleged attacker at the front of the number 149 bus in Stoke Newington, yesterday afternoon.
An alarm – presumably the bus’ – blares in the background as the assailant is rammed into the driver’s window.
The passenger finally manages to disarm him – and as soon as he does, the suspect runs off the bus.
As he watches the man run off, he screams: “I’m an African, you never take my life.”
Metropolitan Police said they were called to reports of a stabbing at Stoke Newington road junction at 1.55pm yesterday.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man in his 20s with minor lacerations to his hand and head,” a spokesperson said.
He then flees down the road as a worried onlooker points out the fearless man has cuts after his heroic actions.
“He was taken to an East London hospital where he was treated for his injuries. He has now been discharged.
“There have been no arrests and enquires continue.
“Police would encourage any witnesses to come forward and any persons that may have filmed the incident to contact the investigation team on 07500 607 652 or the police non-emergency line on 101.”
