Margot Robbie Has Changed Her Name To Margot Ackerley, And We’re Going To Need Some Time To Adjust.
Margot Robbie is potentially Australia’s greatest export, smashing it on screen in Oscar-nominated movies like I, Tonya whilst managing to look absolutely perfect whenever she steps out on the red carpet. Though she’s grown a lot from her Home and Away days, it seems this Queensland native is changing one aspect of her life permanently: Her name.
Whilst spending some time in Melbourne for one of her best friend’s wedding, it was noted by The Daily Telegraph that Robbie’s name was listed quite differently on the seating plan.
Her name card read “Mrs Tom Ackerley,” indicating that she has officially taken her husband’s last name by switching her surname from ‘Robbie’ to ‘Ackerley’.
Mr Ackerley took to Instagram to share some snaps of the couple at the wedding, where Margot opted to wear a $2,377 metallic red gown by The Vampire’s Wife.
Margot and Tom wed in a secret ceremony in Byron Bay back in December 2018, but after their nuptials the bride remained as ‘Margot Robbie’, at least in her professional life.
Whether or not Margot will adopt Ackerley as her professional last name, or keep her maiden name as her stage name is unknown.
