Other than watching the movie and wearing pink, the best way to spend Mean Girls Day 2020 is sharing memes from the movie.
Mean Girls Day is a day dedicated to the celebration of all things fetch in honor of the 2004 movie Mean Girls. On October 3rd, Mean Girls fans choose to wear pink in recognition of ‘the plastics‘ rule that “on Wednesdays we wear pink.” The date is a reference to a scene in the movie where Cady Heron’s crush asks her what day it is, to which she responds “it’s October 3rd.”
The movie will be showing on at least one cable network. At 8:20 a.m. ET / 7:20 a.m. CT, The Movie Channel will be starting the day right with a screening on Mean Girls.
Mean Girls is also available to watch on a number of streaming services. Fans of the Tina Fey-written movie can watch it online on Fubo TV, Showtime (plus the Showtime Amazon Prime Video add-on) and on DirecTV. In the U.K., meanwhile, the movie is currently on NowTV.
U.K. Netflix also has Mean Girls 2 if fans want something new to watch—though as that movie has a rating of just 4.1/10 on IMDB, they may also want to avoid that.
Earlier this year, however, some of the cast have expressed interest in doing another sequel to the cult classic movie. “It would be fun to play Regina George later in her life and see where life took her,” McAdams said in a Heroes of Health: COVID-19 video in April.
