Hillary Clinton’s Between Two Ferns interview with Zach Galifianakis has clocked the highest launch-day view count in Funny Or Die history, breaking social media records, and generating more than 30 million views across all of Funny Or Die platforms in 24 hours.
In the video, Clinton played things relatively straight to Galifianakis’ hijinks and roasting of both her and Donald Trump. For example, he asked her about being some childrens’ “first white president” and threw a Trump campaign ad into the middle of the interview.
The video went live yesterday, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, it was watched 30 million times in 24 hours, which is a record for Funny or Die. And this is the show that has featured guests like Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lawrence, and President Obama.
Hundreds of thousands of people shared it on Facebook, over 25,000 shared it on Twitter, and it was one of the biggest pieces of campaign news yesterday.
Scott Aukerman, who directed the episode, told The Daily Beast it was actually Clinton’s idea to do the bit and it was a “pretty relaxed, fun shoot.”
