Cows stranded on clifftop in New Zealand earthquake have been SAVED.

Today’s deadly earthquakes on New Zealand’s South Island have placed three cows in peril, after the earth fell away around them and left the animals trapped atop a small patch of land on their own mini-mountain.

A veterinarian on Australian television posted a photo of the stranded animals to his Facebook page, and their plight has since gone viral.

“The effect on the island’s animal population still isn’t known,” wrote Dr. Chris Brown, “but rescue efforts are now beginning to save the two cows and a calf that are marooned on this tiny mound of earth.”

According to the New Zealand Herald, the landslides occurred near the town of Kaikoura. Footage below, from Newshub, paints a clear picture of the animals’ predicament:
