SUV’s plunge off cliff that killed California family may have been intentional act.
California Highway Patrol announced the crash on the Northern California coast involving a Washington state family appears to be intentional.
Officials said the speedometer inside the Hart family’s SUV was “pinned” at 90 miles per hour.
However, they also said that findings are not conclusive because a full investigation still needs to be conducted.
They said the speedometer could have moved at the time of impact during the crash.
The SUV was found crushed at the bottom of a California roadside cliff on Monday.
Jennifer and Sara Hart were killed in the crash, along with three of their adopted children; 19-year-old Markis Hart, 14-year-old Abigail Hart and 14-year-old Jeremiah Hart.
Police are still searching for three missing children who they believe were in the vehicle. Those children are 16-year-old Hannah Hart, 15-year-old Devonte Hart, and 12-year-old Sierra Hart.
The Washington State officials began investigating the Hart family earlier this month, after receiving a report of potential neglect and abuse.
