Donald Trump has been given a dose of Remdesivir to treat his coronavirus infection, the US President’s personal doctor said.

Dr Sean P Conley said in a statement this afternoon Mr Trump is doing very well and does not require any extra oxygen.

However, he said after consulting with specialists from Water Reed and Johns Hopkins University it was decided to initiative Remdesivir therapy.

“He has completed his first dose and is resting comfortably,” Dr Conley said in a statement released by the White House press secretary.

“Going well, I think! Thank you to all. LOVE!!!” he tweeted.

So far, Trump has had only mild symptoms, including fatigue.

Mr Trump seemingly confirmed Dr Conley’s statement by tweeting from within the hospital.
