With more doses of COVID-19 vaccines in Kansas, there are more places to get the shot. Currently, there are more than 20 Dillons Pharmacies across the state that are vaccinating customers with appointments.

“Our pharmacy and our pharmacy staff are very excited. We look forward to being able to provide this service,” said Dillons Health and Wellness Merchandiser Robert Tomasu.

Dillons received 2,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine in its first shipment from the federal government. Dillons Pharmacies are following county-specific guidelines in determining who is eligible to make an appointment to get the vaccine.

“So its’ recommended that people stay within the counties that they live, but we are not turning people away from different counties,” Tomasu explained.

If you want to get the vaccine through the Dillons Pharmacy, you can only book appointments online through the company’s website.

“The scheduler fills up fairly quickly, so I would recommend that people keep an eye on that,” Tomasu said. “Check it routinely. We do have some cancelations, we do have some people that don’t show up.”

Those who are able to get the first shot of the Moderna vaccine at Dillons Pharmacies are then booked for the second dose while they’re at their first appointment.

“I know everyone’s anxious and they’re ready, we just ask that you please be patient,” said Dillons spokesperson Sheila Regehr. “We have very limited supply. so i know those appointment are filling up pretty quickly.”
