Modern Family star Julie Bowen and her husband Scott Phillips have separated after 13 years of marriage.
Bowen and Phillips have not released a statement or provided a reason for the split.
The Modern Family star and Phillips, a real estate investor and software developer, were married on September 9, 2004. The couple have three sons, including Oliver, 10, and twins John and Gustav, 8.
The pair had not been photographed together at a public event in almost two years. In September 2016, Bowen and Phillips attended the Los Angeles LGBT Center 47th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards in West Hollywood, where Bowen was asked by several outlets about her marriage.
According to Us Weekly, she told the magazine that she and her husband had not gotten a divorce yet because they were too exhausted to do so.
“We watch all these people get married and split up and go, ‘Wait, did they get married after us or before us?’” Bowen told Us. “We outlast all these people. The answer: We’re too tired to do anything else!”
At the same event, People asked Bowen why her husband had not accompanied her to that year’s Emmy Awards.
“We just had our anniversary on the day of the Emmys which was hilarious,” Bowen responded. “He’s come every year, he’s been so supportive and this year he was playing in a tennis tournament and I wasn’t nominated as an individual so I said, ‘What do you want to do on our anniversary?’ I mean it’s such an honor to be nominated and to go, but it’s tough to be a purse holder.”
Two months after the gala, Bowen shared the Snapchat video, below, on her Instagram in November 2016. It is the last post about her husband she has shared on social media.
