Mariah Carey Caught Lip-Syncing in Opening Night of Las Vegas Show.

Mariah Carey kicked off her latest Las Vegas residency “The Butterfly Returns” on July 5 at Caesars Palace Colosseum, but there was a little bit of accident. The pop diva was caught lip-syncing during the show.

While belting out her classic hit “Boyfriend”, Mariah was placed on a rolling box by dancers. When her boyfriend Bryan Tanaka was trying to help her onto the moving box, he didn’t provide enough counter-weight on the back and the diva tipped over. Making things worse, her singing track continued to play even though the microphone was taken away from her mouth.

Fortunately, she was able to continue with the performance and even able to laugh it off after she finished belting out the song. She told the sold-out crowd, “Sometimes we have a little pain, but it’s alright.”

Despite the minor mishap, her first Las Vegas show was still a success. During the show, she performed a lot of her impressive hits such as her debut single “Vision of Love” as well as her enduring anthem “Hero” and “Always Be My Baby”. She also delivered a rendition of Diana Ross’ “Love Hangover”.

After the show, she took to Twitter to thank her fans for their support on opening night. Sharing a picture of herself sporting a black gown while singing onstage, she wrote alongside the pic, “Opening night of The Butterfly returns in Vegas! Thank you all for being an amazing audience.”
