Asda claims it’s pineapple plant stops snoring – and NASA agrees.

They taste delicious slapped on top of gammon, even better slathered in cheese on a slice of pizza, and some say munching on one can even help pregnant women go into labour.

But now boffins at NASA says the pineapple could have a genuine everyday use – as it could stop people from snoring!

And supermarket chain Asda, which has stores in Leicester, Thurmaston, Oadby, Hinckley, Braunstone, Shepshed and Coalville, is stocking the a miniature house plant version of the fruit in the run-up to Christmas.

That’s good news with just 24 sleeps until December 25!

According to NASA studies, pineapple plants produce oxygen and improve air quality throughout the night and therefore aid better and quieter sleep, reports the Derby Telegraph .

With almost a quarter of Brits regularly sleeping in different rooms due to their partner’s snoring, the plant could be the bedroom revolution British couples have been waiting for to get them out of prickly night-time situations.

Grown in Hollland, the plants take between 21 and 24 months to develop and produce the inedible, miniature pineapple that adorns the top.

Phil Smith, Asda plant buyer, said: “Snorts, snuffles and splutters affect a quarter of Brits, so for those 16 million snorers, Asda’s pineapple plant could be a dream come true – even more-so for sleep deprived partners.

“For those lucky enough to sleep through the night without the disturbance of snoring, the plant is a chic addition to the home which is easy to care for and adds a little touch of The Tropics to any room.”

Asda is selling the plants for £12, but they are only available in store until January.
