Real dead body found on set of BBC serial killer drama as filmmakers arrived to film fake corpse.

Filming on thriller series Rellik was halted when the body was found, turning the show’s east London set into a genuine crime scene.

UK media report the cadaver was found by police just before Rellik’s crew arrived to shoot a scene featuring a fake corpse.

The crew were shooting in Cambridge Heath Park, London.

“The crew arrived to film their own dead body and the police told them they weren’t able to, because they’d found a real dead body,” actor Paterson Joseph told the Mirror.

“It was bizarre, fact being stranger than fiction.”

The body’s discovery was not the first strange coincidence to blight the filming of Rellik.

Joseph said lead actor Richard Dormer had caught impetigo while filming, covering his face in similar blemishes to those that mark the face of his character, who was scarred in an acid attack.

There were also acid attacks in London at the same time as the series was filming its own acid attack, Joseph said.
