Most Michigan residents currently eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine can schedule their shots at their local Rite-Aid.
Rite-Aid is offering vaccinations in “all counties and cities” in Michigan where it has stores.
Right now, the pharmacy is serving these eligible groups:
- Anyone 65 and older
- Healthcare workers
- Long-term care residents and staff
- Pharmacy staff
- Public health employees
Rite-Aid is not authorized to vaccinate school staff, child care workers or correctional officers, although those groups are currently eligible for vaccination under state guidelines.
Appointments must be scheduled online here. Appointments cannot be made by phone or in person.
The company is among the first to participate in the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program, which is allocating vaccine doses directly to pharmacies for distribution based on state and local eligibility requirements. Rite-Aid is currently distributing doses in California, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington, and Philadelphia and New York City.
