Boy, 5, calls 911 for McDonald's (Reports)

The only thing 5 year old Iziah Hall loves more than Minecraft is McDonald’s.

Iziah had a craving for fast food early Sunday morning but his Grandma was sleeping so he decided to make a call.

Dispatcher: “Kent County 911 what’s your emergency?”
Iziah: “Can you bring me McDonald’s?”
Dispatcher: “I’m sorry what?”
Iziah: “Can you bring me McDonald’s?”
Dispatcher: “No I can’t bring you McDonald’s.”

Sara Kuberski is the dispatcher who took the call.

“We get a lot of people who are letting their kids play on their cell phones and a lot of them are deactivated and parents don’t realize they can still call 911,” says Kuberski.

Dispatch reached out to Wyoming police officer Dan Patterson.

“I was laughing to myself… 5-year-old calls dispatch and orders McDonald’s,” says Patterson.

The officer went to the home to make sure everything was okay but decided to make a special stop on his way.

“I figured hey I’m driving past McDonald’s on my way there and I might as well get him something,” says Patterson.

When he arrived at the home no one answered so the officer knocked on the 5 year old’s window.

“I think the first thing he said to me was, “My grandma’s gonna be so mad, can you please go away?” Patterson said.

Iziah was using a phone that had been deactivated years ago but to his grandma’s surprise the 5-year-old connected it to WiFi and was able to make the call. Officer Patterson used the visit as a learning experience.

“We all thought it was really cool that Officer Patterson went over there with the McDonald’s so it kind of made our night,” says Kuberski.
